John Holeman, Surf coach
John Holeman has been battling adversity and winning since the day he was born. John was born with his abdominal organs inside his chest. Doctors performed extensive surgery to put his organs and intestines where they were supposed to be. His father died when he was very young. Then in 2002, John had to undergoe another major surgery to remove scar tissue that had built up as a result of his infant surgery. At that time the doctors noticed he had an enlarged heart. No soon had John healed from that surgery he had heart transplant. John could have thrown his hands up and quit and we would all understand, but that's not in his character. He still surfs strong to this day.
John Holeman, the first aerial 360
John started surfing in 1968 at the age of five. To this day, he's still going strong. John's solid skills and ability to build insane speed won him a slew of contests nation wide. His natural progression was to take the surfboard to the air. Pioneering the Aerial 360 and numerous other aerial moves...earning him the coveted cover of Surfer Magazine in August of 1993. Today, John can still blast aerials, although he prefers to spend his time coaching up and coming surfers from the East Coast.
